Students are required to have a land telephone line in the house in order to utilize our pre-programmed computers.

Sessions: Approximately 38 – 1hr sessions per year.  ATS Project Success offers students in grades K-8 tutorial services in reading and mathematics.  We offer services online with one of our pre-programmed computers and dial-up Internet service at no cost to parents.  Students work from the comfort and safety of their own home, and families choose a schedule that meets their needs

Service Delivery Model:
The East Side Learning Center is a year-round, non-sectarian, one-on-one tutoring program in reading for children in grades K-4 who are below level in reading and live on the East Side of St. Paul or attend school there.   Tutoring takes place after school. Tutoring locations are at John A. Johnson Achievement Plus Elementary, Bruce F. Vento Elementary and
Trinity Catholic School. Parents provide their own transportation.  We can work with ELL and LD students, but parents need to know that we are not trained in special education. The goals of this child-centric program are (1) to help children who are below grade-level in reading reach their grade level no later than the end of fourth grade, and (2) to empower them to be successful in school and society

Service Delivery Model:

Friendship Community Services-Eager to Learn (FCS-E2L) tutoring program pairs K-12 learners with diverse tutors who are veteran and new teachers, college students, and community members.  Children and youth are instructed individually and in small groups (2-3 learners) in reading and mathematics.  The goal of E2L is to enhance, reinforce and support academic performance in the classroom and to help your child pass the MN MCAII exam.  A culturally relevant curriculum, along with a flexible tutoring schedule, allows tutoring sessions to be held at community-based locations.  E2L will provide tutoring twice each week at your child's school, home, church, community center or a library near your home.  Tutors are trained and well-prepared to support and build upon the strategies used in your child's classroom each day.  E2L uses pre and post exams, and Individual Learning Plan, Monthly Progress Reports, family phone communication, and a family celebration to ensure student academic progress.

Network for the Development of Children of African Descent (NdCAD) provides a Reading Tutorial Program called SANKOFA for K-8 grade students.  The program uses culturally-rich learning materials and scientifically sound assessment and instructional practices.  NdCAD’s tutoring staff is made up of highly qualified instructors who understand the cultural background and unique needs of students.  The program has a proven track record and produces increased reading levels and improved reading skills and comprehension.  Our goal is to help children improve in reading and learn to love it in the process.

Project SPIRIT provides quality math tutoring based on the Everyday Math curriculum, which is used in Saint Paul Public Schools.  We work with teachers and parents to identify individual students’ skill levels and target tutoring based on those individual needs.  Math tutoring activities are part of a comprehensive Afro-centric enrichment program that is implemented by skilled staff and volunteers and builds students’ academic performance and self-esteem (which includes pride in cultural heritage).

Service Delivery Model: Small group of no more than three students per teacher

RAMP (Reading and Math Program) UP! Provides students with individualized assessment and research based skill building curriculum.  The highly qualified teachers have experience adjusting instruction for a variety of learners needs.  Students (Grades K-8) are taught in their home school setting within a 32-hour course framework.  A suggested format could include, twice weekly two-hour sessions for eight weeks.  Instruction will be delivered at the participating school site, immediately after the regular school day ends, in a small group setting of no more than three students per teacher.  No transportation is provided.

Salvation Army’s Eastside Community Center

Service Delivery Model: The Salvation Army provides individual and small group tutoring to students in groups K-8.  Tutoring is provided in reading and math, and in other academic areas depending on the individual student’s needs.  Individual tutoring is provided on a 1:1 ratio; small group instruction is provided on a 3:1 ratio.  Services are available through The Salvation Army’s Eastside Community Center at 1019 Payne Ave, St. Paul, MN  55130.  Tutoring is available from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. twice per week between Monday and Thursday.

TutorCO provides 1-on-1 Math tutoring for grades 3 to 12 students, delivered live and online at home, or at school (before or after-school).  Our personalized learning programs let you study at your own pace and help you excel.  TutorCo will provide you with a computer and an Internet connection for in-home tutoring, upon meeting certain conditions.  The student can keep the computer upon successful completion of the program.  Our tutors are highly qualified, motivated and committed to making a difference in your academic performance.  We send a bi-weekly report to parents and teachers at the student’s school.  Last year, 74% of enrolled students saw a full letter grade improvement within one month of tutoring with us.  Services are available 7 days a week, 7a.m. to 11:00 p.m. local time.  Visit us at http://www.tutorco.com for more information.

YWCA St. Paul Tutoring Program provides individualized tutoring services to youth attending St. Paul Public Schools in grades K through 12.  Tutoring is available in Language Arts and Math.  Transportation is available from select area schools to the YWCA.  Students work with skilled educational professionals and licensed teachers who a re highly qualified in their areas of focus and have demonstrated a passion for and commitment to working with youth.
